Thoughts in the new year

Yes, I know it's been a while since I've blogged. Deal. ;)

I'm granting myself grace for that, in fact.

As I did my year-end review, I was struck by how much has happened this past year. We finished up our seminary coursework, we were connected and eventually called to ministry in a church, we moved back to Canada, and bought a house... we also went on vacation to BC and connected with some tremendous folks (family and friends).

And that's really the tip of the iceberg. It's been quite a year. No wonder it's taking me some time to catch up with myself, in terms of thinking through life in its new twists and turns.

Now that we have completed the first 'quarter' of ministry, I am starting to feel like I'm turning a significant corner. We had specifically given ourselves quite a bit of grace and leeway in these first three and a half months (till January) especially regarding role division and scheduling. It's felt good to have that grace period. And now I'm ready to step into a new stage - still grace-filled - but less fluid and more defined.

As a part of that, I hope and anticipate I'll be blogging more shortly. I am coming into my skin again, and it's a good thing. I'm figuring out once more who I am in this new context, with this new role, and all that comes with it.
